Big ideas + New media + Mashable = ?

Innovative solutions, that’s what!

Today I will be attending the Mashable Social Good Summit in New York City, ready to observe and share big ideas from some brilliant minds.  I encourage you to follow me on twitter (@thesoulshines) and get involved yourself!  Look out for the #SGSglobal hashtags all weekend long.

What exactly is the Mashable Social Good Summit?

“From September 22-24, the third annual Social Good Summit will unite global leaders as they share how to use the power of innovative thinking and technology to solve the greatest challenges facing the world today. We want you to help us make history and join the conversation with leaders and citizens from around the globe.

“On September 24, we invite people all over the world to connect through local meetups, where they will address the same question: How can new technology and new media create solutions for the biggest problems facing my community?

Who will be speaking at the summit?

Muhammad Yunus, Deepak Chopra, Forest Whitaker, Jeffrey D. Sachs, Nicholas Kristof, and many others:

How can I get involved?

The goal of this summit is to encourage participation around the globe, harnessing the power of social media to create a truly global conversation about how to fix social problems.  You can livestream the event from your home, follow along various bloggers (like yours truly @thesoulshines) on twitter and other forms of social media, and get involved in the conversation yourself!

“In the weeks that follow the Social Good Summit, we’ll be sharing and starting conversations around all the local discussions. And at the end of the year we’ll bring together all the local discussions into one ‘worldwide paper,’ a crowdsourced global action plan that highlights the opportunities – and challenges – we all face.”

I hope to hear from you all soon!
